| How can I see how many "hits" my site has
received? |
Every hosting account comes with a "statistics package"
that is used to track visitors to your site. To access this data,
use your web browser to go to your home page and then type in "/stats"
after your web address. For example:
http://www.mycompanydomain.com/stats
Unix Accounts: you will then be prompted to enter your account
username and password. Contact
us if you need your username and password.
NT Accounts: you will then be prompted for the "Server
ID". Enter your account username here and click the button to
continue. Next you'll be prompted for your username and password,
enter them and click "OK". Contact
us if you need your username and password.
| How do I configure
email accounts, email forwarding and auto-responders? |
To setup mail boxes, mail forwarding or autoresponders, e-mail
support with the information for the setup that you need and we
will take care of it ASAP and get back to you with your usernames
and password.
POP Accounts: There are two different kinds of e-mail accounts
we can setup for you. "POP" mail accounts are actual mailboxes
on our system that you can retreive mail from using Microsoft Outlook,
Netscape, Eudora, etc.
Forwarding Accounts: Forwarding mail accounts look the same
to your customers (for example: mike@mycompany.com) but they forward
to another email account you already use. This is usefull for people
who only want to check a single mailbox.

the particulars of Monolithic's hosting system. |
Facility
Our server network is housed in a secure telco grade facility strategically
located at the Los Angeles hub of telecommunications and Internet
connectivity. Our building, formerly owned by Wells Fargo Bank, was
designed from the ground up to be both physically secure and also
a controlled environment for computer equipment.
Network
The network itself is fed via multiple OC-12 and OC-3 fiber connections
directly to major bandwidth providers and ISP's. Built-in excess capacity
and private peering relationships ensure an extremely high up-time,
loads of bandwidth on-demand, and low transit latency.
Power
With 4,000 amps of battery backup, and four 1.5-megawatt turbo-charged
generators, the facility can be separated from city water and power
services and still remain fully operational for up to 28 days - the
backup generators alone could power a city of 20,000 people.
Security
In order to gain physical access to our network, one would have to
be admitted through three locked areas: a 24x7 manned security station,
another 24x7 gateway manned by technical personnel and finally, into
locked server cages.
Servers
We make use of Sun, Cobalt and Dell servers running Solaris, Linux
and Windows 2000 Server in our hosting network. Even our virtual hosting
clients enjoy the speed and reliability of dual processor, dual power
supply, RAID 5 machines.
| Can I register more
than one domain to "point" to my hosting account? |
Yes. The only requirement is that the domain name you want to point
has our domain name servers listed in it. E-mail
support to have us set this up for you.
| What do I need a hosting
account for? |
A hosting account is required to make a web site available to visitors
online. It is setup on a computer configured with server software
that is connected to the Internet. The files that make up the web
site are loaded onto the computer and visitors are then able to "see"
the site with their web browser anywhere on the Internet.
| How much does a hosting
account cost? |
The cost of a hosting account varies from around $10 per month to
$100s per month depending on the disk space, transfer allotment and
software configured on the server for it. The vast majority of web
sites fit nicely within the cheaper variety of account. If you have
any questions about what your site would require, contact
support for more information.
